| Yesterday I attended a short sale class and became more hopeful than I have been for people struggling to pay their mortgages and about to lose their homes. |

| The home at 1010 Draughon Avenue is a wonderful cottage in Green Hills, close to Lipscomb and convenient to 12th South. |

| I moved to Nashville in August 2001 and thanks to my friend Tallu had already been introduced to the Sunshine Grocery. That was the main place I shopped until it was bought and closed by Wild Oats. |

| I’m afraid I won’t have Janie much longer. Janie is my dog. She’s a thirteen year old English Springer Spaniel who I got as a six-week-old puppy when I was in high school. |

| In middle school I wasn’t allowed to mention that my mom is a lesbian. If it was known around town, then my mom would lose her job, which included our house. |

| A little over a week ago I got to run in the Purity Music City Dairy Dash. One of the cool things about it was the course. |

| A few weeks ago I was looking for a yoga studio online. This all came about because I need to learn to relax, breathe, all that kind of stuff. Usually I move really quickly through my days, and an hour without my phone sounded nice. Learning to bend and building muscles sounded like a way to make the time productive. So I made a few Google queries and asked some friends who do yoga what the descriptions meant. The good news is that I found the coolest place near my house in East Nashville. |

| I read an article in today's Tennessean about growth in Davidson and the surrounding counties. The reasons why people are attracted to Middle Tennessee and the effects population growth is having on local communities were interesting. It also helps explain why the real estate market in this area is so strong. |

| I'm so glad so many residents were able to attend Tuesday night's Metro Council meeting. The Dickerson Pike Redevelopment Plan passed on its second reading. The third reading is scheduled for Tuesday, April 15th.

|
| Members of the East Nashville community chose to make Dickerson Pike a Redevelopment District in the East Nashville Community Plan. This redevelopment plan aims to,"strategically reverse disinvestment and blight and promote redevelopment that is sustainable from economic, environmental, aesthetic, public safety, and historic preservationist perspectives."Other areas of Nashville that have already been Redevelopment Districts are 5 Points, 12 South, and the Gulch. Many people in the East Nashville area are excited about the opportunities and improvements that this designation would bring. However, at a previous Metro Council meeting local business owners indefinitely blocked this decision. |

| February's home sale numbers were just released by the Greater Nashville Association of Realtors. Here is what the association reported: February 2007 had 2,575 closings and February 2008 had 1,892. This shows a 26.5% decline. All categories are down. Residential went from 2,006 to 1,488. Condominium went from 341 to 256. Multi-family went from 38 to 27. Farms/land/lots went from 190 to 121. |

|
| Happy New Year! I am so excited that 2008 is here. In October I will turn thirty and in November I will celebrate my fifth year working in real estate. I'm not excited about leaving my twenties, but I am energized about my goals for the year. |

| You can gauge what you are charging (or paying) for rent compared to your neighbors. |

| Planting bulbs in the fall and a few annuals in the spring is the total of my landscaping experience. However, that doesn't stop me from appreciating great landscaping and noticing when a house would seem more appealing with some landscaping help. |

| Buyers Market: when there is greater than a six month supply. Buyers have more choices and thus more negotiating power.

| Did you buy a home with green features or modify a home to make it more earth-friendly? |
|
|
|
|
|
| I hope for everyone that they always have the choice to keep their homes, but I hope that apart from that, they have as many choices as possible. |
